Standard aftermarket maintenance recommendation, but please consult with bow manufacture.

" Wax periodically in wear areas, using only a small amount to keep the fibers lubricated. For crossbows, regular use of the wax is recommended on the center serving area where it rides the rail and contacts and mechanism. Use of rail lube should be done in addition to waxing as these typically dry the area out and create premature wear. "

Q, Will I get faster fps with custom bow strings? 
A,  It is possible, but not a guarantee. There are many other tuning factors to consider as to why or why not you get more fps.

Q, Is having pin stripes better?
A, No...

Q, Are there better than my factory string & cable set? 
A, I personally have seen very few factory string and cable sets that I would even call ok. Some of your larger box store bow lines may be putting high volume price point string and cable sets on that are only $20 sets. A good string builder will have methods of working with strings to insure the shooter maximum performance and reliability.
